Just over seven and a half years into our journey of building a company, it is becoming apparent what differentiates us from our competitors. These differentiators speak to the things that are important to us and shine through in every aspect of how we interact with our team members and stakeholders.
- We care deeply about our people and have “soul”
We are on a focused mission to, as Simon Sinek says, “build a team of people who come to work inspired, feel safe and leave fulfilled”. At the end of our professional careers, we want to look back and be proud of the quality of business we’ve built. Our strategy for building a world-class electronics recycling company is to build the most impressive and cohesive team of people in the industry. We care deeply for the growth and development of each individual and are passionate about the idea of building a team of people from diverse backgrounds that is greater and stronger than the sum of the individuals. Everyone can figure out how to crunch the numbers and spend the money. Not everyone has our passion for people.
- We are transparent
Unfortunately, there are too many examples in the electronics recycling industry of companies not fulfilling their commitments to their various stakeholders. We are not in this business for a short-term dollar. We believe that if we are honest and transparent with our employees, customers and stakeholders, we will build lasting and valuable relationships and ultimately, a more valuable business. We have made the commitment that we will always “do what we say we’re going to do”.
- We are committed to adding value to our customers and providing the highest level of customer service
With the growth in electronics and the development for the marketplace, we have many active competitors. Competition doesn’t scare us. Everyone in our organization is trained to know that our customers always have other options and that each employee is in the customer service business.
Even the sorter or equipment process, whose direct connection to the client may not be so apparent, must think about customer service. For example, if they don’t hit their quota, we run the risk of backing up and not being able to meet commitments made to other customers to receive their material, leading to a negative experience.
We want to be viewed as a valuable partner who makes our customers lives easier. We take their pain away and we never want to give our customers the desire to look for alternative options.
- We are committed to continuous improvement
We often say that electronics reuse and recycling is not “rocket science”. With enough time and money, any competent company will figure out how to divert electronics from landfill at a profit. That being said, our commitment to improving day in and day out will keep us one or more steps ahead of the competition. And it’s this commitment that keeps our customers coming back while referring us new ones along the way. A win-win for everyone.
